Amino Acid Analytics (S 433 / S 633)

The S 433 combines classical ion-exchange chromatography with HPLC automation for amino acid quantification at 10 picomole sensitivity — with validated linearity from 10 pM to 10 nM. The extended standard method resolves more than 50 amino acids and metabolites in a single run. Features: quaternary pump (up to 350 bar), automated injector (120 vials, cooled), column thermostat (5–85°C), high-temp ninhydrin reactor (185°C), dual-wavelength detection at 440/570 nm. 100% inert wetted materials (PEEK, PTFE, PVDF). Complete consumables ecosystem: LCA columns, Na/Li-citrate buffers, certified calibration standards. ChromStar 7 with Amino Acid Plugin for automated peak ID, calibration, and GLP-compliant reporting.

Ion Chromatography (S 150 / S 155)

Sykam IC systems enable precise separation and quantification of anions, cations, organic acids, and transition metals. Unlike most systems, Sykam ICs analyze anions, cations, and transition metals via automated valve switching. Trace detection down to 1 µg/L with automatic pre-concentration. Proprietary Auto-Suppressor eliminates costly cartridge replacements. Conductivity detection: 20 nS/cm–20,000 µS/cm. Flexible multi-detection: suppressed conductivity, UV/Vis at 220 nm, or PAR post-column derivatization for metals. Thermostated column oven (40–70°C). Modular and scalable — add cation, transition metal, or pre-concentration modules as needs evolve.

HPLC Columns (PEEK & Stainless Steel)

Sykam develops its own stationary phases, packs its own columns, formulates its own eluents, and validates complete separations on its own instruments. IC columns: SYK A 01 nG anion exchange (3 × 150 mm), resolves 10 anions, validated 12-point linearity. AA columns: LCA K06/Na (hydrolysate < 60 min), LCA K07/Li (physiological 50+ compounds < 120 min). Preparative PEEK: CNC-machined from solid natural PEEK, 50–70 mm ID, pressure-tested to 150 bar, acid/base stable. Guard columns and pre-wash columns for extended lifetime.

Custom Method Development

When standard methods don't fit, our specialists develop and validate custom separations. Buffer composition, pH, ionic strength, temperature profiles, gradient timing, detection wavelengths — all optimized for your acceptance criteria. Recent examples: resolving hydroxyproline and DOPA under Na-buffer conditions; extended physiological screens including 3-hydroxykynurenine, kynurenine, and aminoethylcysteine; multi-column IC for common anions plus trace disinfection byproducts. Complete SOPs, calibration standards, and consumables delivered with every method.

High Precision & Qualification

Systems ship with IQ/OQ protocols. Baseline stability < 5.0 mV drift (440/570 nm). Flow rate precision < 1.0% RSD. Temperature accuracy ±0.1°C (column oven), ±2°C (reactor). Linearity ≥ 0.999.
