Specialty Pumps — Syringe, Quaternary & Preparative

Beyond standard HPLC pumps, Sykam offers three specialty pump platforms for demanding applications: the S 1610 syringe pump for pulse-free post-column and bioanalytical work; the S 2100 compact quaternary gradient pump with graphical display; and the S 1525 preparative pump for high-throughput scale-up workflows.

Description

Continuous and discontinuous delivery of complex media up to approx. 25 bar. Two interchangeable inert Hamilton syringes for various flow ranges. A force-controlled motor valve ensures reliable operation with high biomass content. Completely pulse-free delivery — ideal for post-column derivatisation.

Compact quaternary gradient pump with graphical display showing gradient and pressure profiles, system monitoring, and diagnostic functions. Pump heads in stainless steel and PEEK from micro to preparative HPLC. Optional integrated vacuum degasser with display of actual vacuum level. Freely programmable relay outputs for external device control.

High-flow preparative pump with wide flow range from 150 to 1000 ml/min. Available in stainless steel and PEEK versions, with optional quaternary gradient capability and high-pressure option. Scalable for purification and isolation workflows at preparative and production scale.

Operating Principle

Two glass syringes driven counter-directionally by separate stepper motors. Resolution 1:4000 per minute over the full stroke. An inert motor valve controls delivery and fill modes. Pre-compression before switching minimises pressure drops. Reliable with complex fluids including suspended particles and high biomass.
